Hernando Green Screen – Making a Killing: Guns, Greed, and The NRA (2015)

On Tuesday, August 2nd at 5:00 PM at the Zopp Memorial Library the Hernando County Green Party will show a film free and open to the public called:
Making a Killing: Guns, Greed, and The NRA  (2015)
It tells the stories of how guns, and the billions made off of them, affect the lives of everyday Americans. It features personal stories from people across the country who have been affected by gun violence, including survivors and victims' families. The film exposes how the powerful gun companies and the NRA are resisting responsible legislation for the sake of profit - and thereby putting people in danger.
The film looks into gun tragedies that include unintentional shootings, domestic violence, suicides, mass shootings and trafficking - and what we can do to put an end to this profit-driven crisis. Through this film and campaign, Brave New Films will work with partners to fight for a country where public safety is more valued than profit.  Join us to demand – and achieve – common sense gun laws now. We offer free refreshments, as always.

New Age Press: Interview with Dr Margaret Flowers

Margaret Flowers has done many great interviews. This interview (below) with the Now Age Press does a great job illustrating how many of us are beginning to see how we actually move forward together. Dr Flowers is running for the Green Party nomination in a Senate run in Maryland. I think she sums it up best in saying:

We can’t just work on health care in isolation, we have to see it as part of the broader struggle for social, economic, environmental and racial justice.

There is so much worth talking about so check out the video and share it with your friends, family and more!

Episode 2:

Police Accountability: Green Time TV 466

Rioters burned portions of Ferguson on November 24, 2014, the night of the announcement that Darren Wilson would not be charged for killing Michael Brown. John Chasnoff, of the Don’t Shoot Coalition, Michael T. McPhearson, of Veterans for Peace, and host Don Fitz discuss how protest organizers attempted to work with police prior to that evening. They address ways that police violate law with practices such as intimidations, sending agent provocateurs to demonstrations, limiting protest time and duration, falsely arresting non-violent protestors, and “kettling.”

Green Time 466 includes footage, used with permission, from the movies “#FergusonOctober – St. Louis Police Tear Gas Protestors – October 11, 2014” and “VonDerrit Myers, Jr. – #BlackLifeMatters” which were filmed by Katina Parker for #SpotlightOnFerguson [Info at: igg.me/at/dontshoot]. Green Time TV is produced by the Gateway Greens in conjunction with KNLC Channel 24.

On the Table with the Green Party – The Global Plantation

WHERE do we start ! ? The discussion includes: The right of self determination of oppressed people everywhere. Our two guests are people that SHOULD be on national TV. BOTH have devoted their lives to activism. They are not just picking up on a trend of black lives mattering or Fight for $15. For YEARS they have been out in the streets working towards changing the paradigms up against the self serving spin of the oligarchy.

Rev. Wright is a member of Jill Stein’s Green Shadow Cabinet. Connie is the president of the Black People’s Advancement and Defense Organization & has been someone I have found so empowering. We cover housing, the fact that Florida is # 1 in prosecution of the homeless and just who ARE the REAL terrorists? We mourn Fred Hampton & how the oligarchy works to confuse, divide and conquer the rest of us.
